Description
One among the new and improved Ice Plants in the Hot Cakes Series, ‘Banana Blast’ produces loads of sunny yellow flowers with icy white centers all summer long that contrast beautifully with the low mounds of silvery grey-green succulent foliage. This hardy and easy to grow and care for outdoor succulent loves the heat, sun, dry spots, and the deer and rabbits don’t want anything to do with it. Perfect for borders, banks and slopes, and also ideal in containers, Banana Blast Ice Plant is sure to provide lots of sunny cheer in the garden!
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 3 to 4 inches tall and spreading to 12 inches or more wide, the Banana Blast Ice Plant is ideal for use as an accent in small garden spaces or combination container gardens or in groupings or massed along the borders of walkways and paths, patios and garden beds. Very nice around rocks and boulders. A fine addition to succulent and cactus gardens, rock gardens, yellow theme gardens and the Xeriscape (low water needs).
Suggested Spacing:Â 12 inches apart for mass plantingÂ

Growing Preferences
When planted right and in the right spot, Ice Plant is very easy to grow. It requires a well-drained lightly moist to dry soil and is very drought tolerant when established. Will tolerate rainy periods but constantly soggy or wet soil is a killer. It performs best in full sun but will tolerate part shade. We suggest at least 6 hours of direct sunlight for best overall performance.
